Laura Byrne

Laura's flute playing has been described as "effortless, powerful and engaging." Highly regarded on both sides of the Atlantic, she has performed extensively across North America and Ireland at prestigious venues and festivals, including The Kennedy Center, Smithsonian Folklife Festival, Richmond Folk Festival, The Birchmere, Rams Head Annapolis, Dublin Irish Festival, and more. A graduate of the Peabody Conservatory, Laura is a four-time Eastern Fleadh competition champion and a recipient of multiple Maryland State Arts Council grants.  Her discography includes two solo albums, a duo album with Rose Flanagan, with The Old Bay Ceili Band, and contributions to projects like the Eva Cassidy remix album Wonderful World.
